Rural Partnerships use their experience and in depth, practical, knowledge of communities to contribute to the effectiveness of the Community Planning Partnership (CPP) at all levels. Each Rural Partnership is a member of their Local Community Planning Group, and through the Aberdeenshire Rural Partnerships Federation, are represented on the CPP Board, the CPP Executive, and theme groups. We’ve added value to the development of the CPP since its inception, representing communities to deliver the purpose of the CPP - “Working together for the best quality of life for everyone in Aberdeenshire”.

EXAMPLES OF OUR WORK AS PART OF THE COMMUNITY PLANNING PARTNERSHIP

Helping Deliver the Single Outcome Agreement - by a focus on direct support for communities. We have helped build community resilience and sustainability through capacity building and a broad spectrum of community economic development.

Promoting Social Inclusion - by facilitating workshops to deliver “With Inclusion in Mind” to explore ways of improving opportunities for people with mental illness and learning disabilities.

Supporting Young People - by working with agency staff to coordinate development of a youth action plan for an area, focussed on the four community schools networks.

Linking Partners with Communities - by helping and facilitating Community Planning Partners and other agencies liaise with communities to undertake meaningful consultation on local and national issues; including strategic plans.
Advocating for Communities - by using our understanding of the needs, aspirations and dynamics of our communities to enable their particular situations to be better understood and appreciated by service providers.
